Design
The X4 certainly has kerb appeal, thanks to its sleek profile, raised ride height and sporty demeanour. The vehicle features expansive wheel arches and a beefed-up shoulder line that more than hint at its off-road prowess. This combination of SUV and sports saloon is carried through to a luxurious cabin, which provides the driver with an elevated position – all the better to see the road ahead. There’s room in the rear compartment for three, and the vehicle possesses a 525-litre boot space. With rear seats folded, cargo capacity increases to a not-inconsiderable 1,430 litres.​

Performance
The X4 comes with a wide range of engine options, from punchy turbo diesels to a 3.0-litre 503bhp six-cylinder petrol unit. The latter delivers 600Nm of torque and 0-60mph in less than four seconds. Optimal efficiency comes in the guise of a 2.0-litre 187bhp engine that returns up to 52.3mpg and produces CO2 emissions from 132g/km. Meanwhile, BMW’s intelligent xDrive system delivers power to all four wheels, ensuring that the best possible traction is achieved on a wide range of surfaces.​

Technology and Safety
For your listening pleasure, a six-speaker sound system is included as standard, featuring DAB radio and an AM/FM tuner. Another standard inclusion is a satellite navigation system, with 3D mapping, voice activation, real-time traffic updates and an 8.8-inch screen. As well as AUX and USB inputs, the vehicle also features Bluetooth connectivity and offers full smartphone integration.
