Raw power is about to get an upgrade. The BMW S 1000 XR has an in-line four-cylinder engine, which is capable of 170hp at 11,000 rpm. The maximum torque clocks in at 114 Nm at 9,250, and the software of the shift assistant Pro has been expanded by various functions, which enables improved load change damping during gear change. This is a beast of a machine that is begging you to push it to the absolute limits. Only then will you unleash its true potential. If you’re opting for the M Package, which is available for the first time on the S 1000 XR, you will experience the M Carbon Wheels, which will ensure extremely good handling of the bike by reducing rotational mass. The technology of the cockpit has improved with a 6.5″ TFT Display with BMW Motorrad Connectivity, replacing the instrument panel. With this, you are able to stay connected with the world while you ride, by connecting your smartphone, bike, and helmet via Bluetooth for navigation, music, and conversations. Safety has been considered as the ECALL “Intelligent Emergency Call” is integrated with the handlebar, automatically contacting emergency services as quickly as possible in the case of an accident. Maneuvering is a flawless exercise. Expect smooth shifting with zero clutch use. The rain and road mode also makes it easier for you to adjust to any driving conditions, with the added benefit of having automatic stability control. BMW S 1000 XR DESIGN
There are a lot of technical changes to the S 1000 XR, but also visually a lot has changed. Standing out in the new design of the front fascia is the intake duct, which stands out as the beak is painted in the respective vehicle colour for the first time. The striking look is emphasised in each individual new colour scheme, and the front side trim panel has also been refined with black graining. The BMW S 1000 XR certainly has some degree of sporting influence, with the front fairing and lighting system being defined by sharp edges. It’s aggressive and consistent to the finish, right to the short tail that resembles a racing bike. Although a somewhat intimidating sporty appearance, comfort is certainly not neglected, as the high flyline, long-distance seat position and comfortable handlebars will quench your thirst to travel many kilometres. The customisable colour options include Blackstorm Metallic or Gravity Blue Metallic, or if you’re a fan of the S 1000 XR’s heritage combination, red, white and blue in Light White/M Motorsport.
